Spring Sports

Soccer

Although it is not yet official, plans are in the works to bring the Eagles teams back to the field for the spring season. Stay tuned.

Running & Cross Country

Weather permitting, in the spring we hold a Fun Run after school weekly. The Fun Run is comprised of two levels: a half mile for the young children and one mile for the older children, along the backside of our soccer fields and into a course marked within our 50+ acre campus. In addition to good sportsmanship, students learn proper technique for pacing, drafting, passing, long-distance running, and sprinting.

BJAMS is also proud to be part of the Girls on the Run® (GOTR) community. GOTR is a 24-lesson curriculum designed for 3rd – 8th grade girls and combines training for a 5K run with lessons that inspire them to recognize and honor their individual strengths and talents and to celebrate their inner selves. The culminating event of the 12-week season is the opportunity for the girls to participate in a non-competitive 5K running event. Visit www.girlsontherunvermont.org for more information.

Karate

After school on Wednesdays, our multipurpose room is transformed from a sea of navy, burgundy, and gold to wall of white uniforms. Tuesdays is when Mount Mansfield Martial Arts holds karate classes on campus.

At Mount Mansfield Martial Arts, our curriculum combines the full benefits of both Kempo Karate and Shaolin Wushu (Kung Fu). In addition to putting a little extra kick in your student’s day, the instructors from Mount Mansfield Marital Arts teach a number of different self-defense techniques all through practicing integrity, dedication, and the “Rules of Honor” (Respect, Self-Control and Self-Discipline).
