Brian Buczek has been involved with soccer and athletics for 20 years. Brian played for Paul Smith’s College where he was a captain, and a New York State Junior College Athletic Association First Team selection.After graduation Brian moved to Vermont and competed for legendary coach Peter Albright at Johnson State College.
Brian earned a captains arm band in his senior season as well as all league honors. Following a successful playing career, Brian’s interest focused on coaching. As a 23 year-old, Brian was hired as the youngest Head Coach in the country at Johnson State College where he was a two-time conference Coach of the Year and qualified for the post season 13 out of 14 seasons. Brian was a First Assistant at Middlebury College with the legendary coach David Saward for two seasons.
After coaching college soccer for 16 seasons, Brian decided to try his hand at Stowe High School. After being hired in 2013, the Raiders continued their success winning two more State Championships and earning Buczek “Coach of the Year” for small schools in Vermont in 2014.
Brian has an extensive club and ODP coaching background.He has coached 4 Snickers Cup State Championship teams, 2 with U-18 boys and two with U-12 and U-13 girls for the Nordic Spirit soccer club. He has been on the Vermont Olympic Development soccer staff for over ten years as a Director, Coach and Player Elevator. Along with his love of teaching the game of soccer and athletics, Brian has an extensive background in the hospitality field as well as sales. He is joined at Bishop Marshall by Samantha his wife, their son Ivan and daughter Ava.
