Hello and welcome to 5th grade!
I believe in meeting the needs of all students and allowing their personal strengths to shine. Although I have high expectations of all my students, I also believe that the key to a successful year is building relationships with each student so they are seen as a true individual and as a part of a larger community. A priority within my classroom is that all students feel safe, are engaged and take ownership of their learning and personal growth as a student and person.
A little about me:
I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Vermont and a Masters degree in Education from Johnson State College. I am a licensed Literacy Specialist with the State of Vermont. I have extensive training with technology integration and teaching 21st century skills and am continually looking for transformative learning opportunities. I have been teaching grades 4th through 6th in public schools since 2003 and began teaching at Bishop Marshall in 2012.
I am a native Vermonter who grew up in the area, spent most of my childhood playing in the hills of Vermont, figure skating in Jackson Arena, skiing on the slopes of Mount Mansfield and just being a kid with my two sisters. I have traveled from Spain, to Mexico and particularly enjoys the Southwest.
In my spare time I like to ski, bike, play outside, read and spend time with my family.
