Bonjour, tout le monde! My name is Stephanie Wicks and I have enjoyed teaching Religion and Kindergarten to 8th grade French at Bishop Marshall School since 2014. I love being part of the BJAMS community and I look forward to sharing my passion for French language and culture, as well as my Catholic values, with my students.
I grew up in Glens Falls, New York and started learning French in 6th grade. I had the privilege of being taught by several dynamic, devoted French teachers who helped inspire my love of the language. After a school trip to France during my senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to continue studying French; a decision that has presented me with many opportunities since!
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in French and Francophone Studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. During my undergraduate studies, I traveled to Avignon, France for an immersion semester which greatly enhanced my French language abilities. While in Europe, I was fortunate enough to travel extensively through Provence and Paris, and visit Italy, Spain, and Greece as well. After college, I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching degree for French Education at Union Graduate College in Schenectady, New York. Since graduation, I have enjoyed teaching French since 2011.
Part of what I love about teaching is becoming part of a school community. There is no better place I would rather work every day and I look forward to teaching all of you! When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Justin; my son, Harrison; and my miniature schnauzer, Grover. We love to travel, play golf, go for nature walks, and ski. We are excited for Harrison to become a member of the BJAMS class of 2030!
