Letters for Elderly Residents in Stowe!
Like so many, Zoe James, BJAMS 6th grader, has been hearing how the elderly and those with chronic health conditions are more susceptible to the Coronavirus and are also more likely to suffer from more feelings of isolation and loneliness associated with social distancing. Zoe learned from Heidi Scheuermann, manager of the Westbranch Apartments in Stowe, that there are 48 residents living there in small apartments, and many have no family or friends outside of the building. Now, they can no longer congregate in the community rooms, take exercise classes, or chat with friends on the benches because of concerns surrounding Coronavirus.
In response, Zoe is inviting her entire 6th grade class to join her in writing letters to all 48 Westbranch residents. The hope is that through reading the letters, the residents may feel less isolated and alone during this difficult time. Please consider joining Zoe in writing two letters: one entitled “When I’m lonely I….” and the other “When I’m bored I….” Or feel free to write your own letter or include a picture or drawing as an added bonus! Zoe will coordinate with Heidi to safely distribute the letters.

Blessed Sacrament Church Outreach
Blessed Sacrament Church in Stowe is organizing an outreach program to help senior citizens who may not have access to groceries, medications, other essentials, and really – anything else they may need. Included in their list of parishioners, are those senior citizens from Most Holy Name in Morrisville. In this spirit, do you know a senior who may need helping hand? Are you a BJAMS family who also might need a helping hand?
Please email Mrs. Morrison (email@example.com) or Mrs. Wilson (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the details so those in need can be included in this outreach program.
